Description

The client is seeking a Programme Director for a 9-month interim contract to work on Devolution plans within a Local Authority on the South Coast. The role, which pays 800-900 per day and is inside IR35, will involve engaging with district and borough councils and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition into a new Local Authority. Responsibilities include developing and implementing a programme plan, preparing reports for the Devolution Joint Committee, and managing risks.

The ideal candidate for the Programme Director role will have strong experience in senior programme management within local government, as well as relevant Change Management qualifications or skills. Experience in establishing or transitioning to new governmental structures, such as combined authorities, is also required. The position offers hybrid working and is set to start in June. The Programme Director will work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders across the area to coordinate a strategic portfolio and report on programme status and activity.
