The client is seeking a Director of Development to lead its fundraising program, responsible for setting the development strategy to reach annual revenue goals through various fundraising activities. The client, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, offers educational methods focused on teaching people how to formulate their own questions to empower them as learners and active participants in democracy. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in individual, institutional, and corporate fundraising, with a strong background in major gifts, stewardship, and annual giving campaigns.
The Director of Development will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the annual development plan to significantly grow the client's philanthropic portfolio. This position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of nonprofit development, successful fundraising experience, and knowledge of development operations. Primary responsibilities include fundraising strategy and management, individual giving, institutional giving, development and philanthropic communications, donor relations, and corporate partnerships. The Director of Development will work closely with the Executive Director to establish and monitor revenue goals, manage budgets, and report progress to the Board of Directors.
In partnership with the Executive Director, the Director of Development will establish and monitor annual revenue goals, develop and manage an annual fundraising plan, and report regularly on progress. The ideal candidate will stay current on nonprofit fundraising trends and best practices, incorporating innovative strategies to maximize revenue generation. With a focus on individual giving, the Director of Development will be responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating, and growing individual donor relationships to support the client's mission of empowering individuals through question formulation and participation in democracy.
