The client is seeking a Director, Mobilizing Alliances for the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in Ottawa, Canada. The IDRC champions and funds research and innovation in developing regions to drive global change. The Director will be responsible for investing in high-quality research, sharing knowledge with researchers and policymakers, and mobilizing global alliances to create a more sustainable and inclusive world. The IDRC has regional offices in Uruguay, Kenya, Senegal, Jordan, and India to stay connected to the projects and researchers they support.
The Director will work closely with a board of up to 14 governors, reporting to Parliament through the Minister of International Development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research and development, with experience in building partnerships and alliances on a global scale. They will be responsible for leading initiatives to support research in developing regions and ensuring that knowledge is effectively shared and utilized by policymakers. The Director will play a key role in advancing the IDRC's mandate to address the challenges facing developing regions and find innovative solutions.
