Neighbourhood Network, an Irish social enterprise and charity, is seeking a Treasurer to oversee all financial aspects of the organization to ensure its short and long-term viability. The Treasurer will work on behalf of the board of trustees to manage the organization's finances, work with the CEO to provide an annual budget, develop financial policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with statutory obligations and best practices in corporate governance. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, financial skills, knowledge, and experience, and a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values.
Board members of Neighbourhood Network are expected to have a working knowledge of the voluntary sector in Ireland, be familiar with corporate governance requirements and legislation, and participate in advocacy in the best interests of the organization. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with charitable purposes, acting in the best interest of the organization, overseeing asset management, and committing to legal and fiduciary responsibilities. Board meetings are held monthly, virtually, with a time commitment of 1-2 hours per week. The term of office is 1-2 years with the ability to renew for further terms, and the role is voluntary.
The Treasurer will work closely with the CEO, the Finance Committee, and the Board to ensure effective financial management, provide financial advice at the board level, and work with auditors to produce annual accounts for approval by the Board and AGM. The role requires a commitment of approximately 4 hours per month, including meetings with the director, reporting to Board meetings, and other duties outlined in the role description. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in guiding the organization's financial health and contributing to the achievement of its goals while upholding the highest standards of corporate governance.
