About Dr. Heyn
Training
Dr. Thomas Heyn is a fully qualified lawyer, a licensed attorney, and holds a doctorate in labor law.
Professional experience
At Hewlett Packard, he was responsible for, among other things, the operational business in Eastern Europe and lived for several years in Moscow, Vienna, and Berlin. The management style of Hewlett Packard (the so-called “HP Way”), his time spent in various countries, and his work experience in a constantly changing environment have had a lasting impact on Thomas.
Tektronix is a leading technology company headquartered in Portland, Oregon. There, Thomas was responsible for Human Resources & Legal Services in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. This period was marked by numerous acquisitions, which he significantly oversaw. The highlight was the purchase of the Test & Measurement business unit from Siemens AG and its subsequent successful integration into Tektronix.
The main focus of his work as “Vice President Human Resources” at Oracle EMEA was supporting the company's ambitious growth targets in Europe, including through the successful integration of numerous company acquisitions.
In 2002, Thomas decided to move into personnel consulting, initially as a partner and practice leader at Amrop, later as founder and managing director of Jack Russell Consulting - AltoPartners Germany in Munich.
Personal interests
In his private life, this passionate motorcyclist enjoys combining competence and life experience with curiosity and a thirst for adventure. For example, he rode his motorcycle from Santiago, Chile, to Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego, "at the end of the world." During his active years, his second great passion, basketball, benefited from his considerable height and his "good eye for the open man." To this day, he tries, largely unsuccessfully, to apply his good ball control and robust physique under the basketball hoop to his golf game.
