The Senior Major Gifts Officer position at the client involves overseeing all major gifts activities within the organization to support their mission of improving the lives of those affected by Huntingtons disease. Reporting to the Chief Development and Field Officer, this role includes managing the major gifts program, building relationships with donors, and collaborating with the development team to increase funding through various channels. Responsibilities also include identifying new prospects, retaining existing donors, and developing strategies for donor stewardship.
Key duties of the position include leading and coordinating major gifts initiatives, planning and executing stewardship efforts on a national level, collaborating with development staff and volunteers, launching a major gifts program, and managing a national donor portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the mission, excellent people skills, a bachelor's degree, at least five years of fundraising experience, and a track record of securing large gifts. Strong communication and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software, and the ability to work remotely or in NYC with some travel are also required.
