About Johannsen
Based in Hamburg, Janina is a seasoned expert in CEO succession, leadership assessment, and executive activation. She works closely with leaders to understand how they think, operate, and influence, enabling organizations to place the right executives in mission-critical roles and set them up for early and lasting success.
Janina brings particular passion to supporting first-time CEOs and C-suite executives, helping them grow quickly, build top-teams, and create immediate organizational impact.
Before joining RRA, Janina was a partner in another global executive search firm where she has guided numerous CEO successions, top-team assessments and board evaluations globally and across sectors such as automotive, defense, consumer goods, financial services, healthcare and private equity.
She began her career in the area of security and defence, working for NATO, the Council of the EU, and the European Parliament in Brussels, before moving into the defence and aerospace industry. This diverse experience gives her a unique perspective on leadership, organizational dynamics, and executive development across public and private sectors.
Janina holds a Dr. Phil in History and a First State Examination in Social Science, History, German and Education from the University of Hamburg, including a Peace & Conflict Studies focus at the University of California, Berkeley. Her academic research focused on European civil-military conflict management.
