The Director of Health and Community Services and Administrator role at Essex County involves overseeing all health and community services provided by the client, including the Long-Term Care Home and Community Services Division. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and the Committee of Management at County Council, this position requires strategic planning, administration, and ensuring organizational goals align with the client's mission, vision, and values. The Director/Administrator is responsible for operations, compliance with legislation and policies, and driving initiatives to enhance organizational success and employee well-being.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a unionized environment, with significant senior management experience in program development, financial administration, and human resources management in the healthcare, social services, or community services sector. They should also have experience in mentorship, coaching, and conflict resolution within a multi-disciplinary team dynamic. Knowledge of applicable legislation, municipal government organization, industry standards, and the communities served is essential, with preference given to candidates with recent healthcare experience. The Director/Administrator will act as a representative of Essex County at community and committee meetings, as well as a liaison with Community and Social Services throughout the region, province, and local OHT.
