Opportunity Details

The client is seeking a Director of Communications to lead a 20-person team responsible for digital, external communications, editorial, press, events, and internal communications. The role involves shaping the communications approach of a forward-thinking regulator overseeing a market worth 50bn and delivering work in the public interest. The ideal candidate will have proven senior-level experience in developing and delivering effective communications strategies, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to navigate a complex stakeholder environment.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated, expert team to deliver impactful communications to a diverse range of consumer and legal professional audiences. They will be expected to have a track record of achievement in complex organizations, think strategically, and possess excellent communication skills and judgment. The role offers the chance to innovate and test new approaches to communications to increase impact. The position is permanent and offers a hybrid working model with a blend of home and office working, with an expectation of being in the office at least two days a week.
The Director of Communications will be based in one of the client's three offices in Birmingham, London, or Cardiff, with a preference for regular presence in the Birmingham office. Travel to external events and meetings in different locations will be required on a fairly regular basis.
