The Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations at the client is a key leadership position responsible for fundraising, alumni relations, and communications. Reporting to the Principal, this individual will set the direction for external relations and be a strategic thinker with an empowering leadership style. They will focus on building relationships and connecting people to the mission of the client, a Christian theological school in the Reformed Protestant tradition.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the church constituencies of the client and its vision and mission. They should be a confident public speaker and comfortable speaking in various settings. Key responsibilities include leading all fundraising efforts, developing a legacy giving program, and strengthening relationships with alumni across Canada and beyond. The Director will also oversee communications and marketing efforts, including the creation and implementation of a marketing plan.
Qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience, active membership in a fundraising association, and significant experience in a major gift role. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in cultivation and solicitation, as well as experience working with a Board of Governors and its committees. They should be a natural relationship builder, networker, and contemporary practitioner comfortable with utilizing available technologies.
