Opportunity Details
The Director for People at our client will play a crucial role in leading, inspiring, and transforming a team of over 100 to deliver a high-quality HR service that meets the needs of the organization. This individual will support the implementation of a People Strategy aimed at improving the wider HR service offering and will work closely with senior leaders, staff groups, unions, and staff to ensure the Brigade is a dynamic, forward-looking organization with fully engaged people at the center of the communities they serve. The successful candidate will need to have experience working at the HR Director/CHRO level for organizations of comparable scale and complexity, with a strong track record of leading successful transformation and possessing personal qualities of resilience, determination, and empathy.
The Director for People will need outstanding communication and influencing skills to address the issues highlighted in an independent Culture Review, which revealed shockingly poor behavior and painful experiences within the organization. The individual will be responsible for ensuring a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, harassment, and discrimination, as well as embedding an external complaints service to encourage staff to raise concerns. Our client is committed to achieving positive change and reflecting the diversity of the communities it serves, making this an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR leader to make a significant impact on the organization.
