The client in St. Louis, Missouri is looking for a Chief Sales Officer (CSO) to lead the destinations group sales strategy and execution. This role involves managing a team of 1314 people in sales and contracts/scheduling, with a focus on building partnerships, driving innovation, and mentoring the team. The CSO will oversee a $45 million annual budget, with $23 million dedicated to destination marketing and $9 million allocated to group sales efforts. Responsibilities include working closely with team members, offering coaching, and maintaining relationships with local stakeholders.
The CSO will be responsible for overseeing the Americas Center Convention Complex, which includes various venues such as the Cervantes Convention Center and The Dome at Americas Center. The team aims to produce 650,000 group room nights in FY25, building on a performance of 560,000 room nights in FY24. The ideal candidate will have a bold, strategic, and results-oriented approach to leadership, with a hands-on leadership style. The CSO will also play a key role in maintaining productive relationships with local hotel Directors of Sales and other community stakeholders.
