The client, The University of Texas at Austin, is seeking a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for the newly announced University of Texas at Austin Medical Center. This multibillion-dollar project, in collaboration with MD Anderson and philanthropic donors, aims to establish the first academic medical center in Austin by 2030. The CHRO will play a crucial role in supporting the existing Dell Medical School and its transformation into a leading academic medical center. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs and Dean, the CHRO will lead the development of an agile HR organization to shape the future of HR operations and patient care delivery in central Texas.

The client, The University of Texas at Austin, is a prestigious public research university with over 51,000 students and the flagship institution of the University of Texas System. The Dell Medical School, named after the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, opened in 2016 and is expanding its faculty medical group to align with the clinical specialties and service lines of the new medical center. The CHRO will oversee the rapid transformation and expansion efforts, including onboarding several thousand employees in the months leading up to the hospital opening. Developing pipeline programs and prioritizing well-being and retention strategies will be essential for the success of recruitment and workforce development.

The CHRO will lead the development of a resilient workforce through restorative spaces, interdisciplinary collaboration, and technology, while also focusing on employee well-being and retention strategies. This is a unique opportunity for a bold and forward-thinking HR leader to shape the future of healthcare delivery in central Texas.
