The Recovery Academy of Ireland is seeking a volunteer Board Member with expertise in Communications and Public Relations to join their dedicated community. The client is committed to promoting and championing the concept of recovery in Ireland, empowering individuals on their recovery journeys through education, advocacy, and support. The ideal candidate will have experience in PR, Communications, Strategy, and Marketing in both the private and community sectors, and must be willing to commit 4-6 hours per month to attend meetings and fulfill their role on the Board.
The Board Member will be expected to support the overall mission and vision of the Recovery Academy of Ireland, actively participate in Board meetings and sub-committees, and provide guidance on PR, Communications, and Marketing matters. They will work alongside the Co-ordinator to develop plans related to public relations, marketing strategy, and communications. Additionally, all Board Members are responsible for contributing to the organization's strategic aims, raising its profile, supporting the Chairperson, leading projects, and adhering to the organization's governance handbook.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Public Relations, Marketing, and Communications Strategy, as well as skills in data recording, task management, and digital communication. Experience in strategy planning and knowledge of the community and voluntary sector in Ireland are advantageous. This is a voluntary role with no remuneration, but expenses incurred in fulfilling the role will be covered by the client.
