The Recovery Academy of Ireland is seeking a volunteer Board Member with Human Resource expertise to join their dedicated community focused on promoting and championing the concept of recovery in Ireland. The client is committed to empowering individuals on their recovery journeys through education, advocacy, and support. The ideal candidate will have experience in HR Management and employment law across both the private and community and voluntary sector. This voluntary role requires a commitment of 4-6 hours per month to attend meetings and provide guidance on HR matters.
The Board Member with HR expertise will be responsible for committing to the mission and vision of the Recovery Academy of Ireland, actively participating in board meetings, and providing oversight on HR elements of the organization. They will work closely with the Manager on HR matters, be aware of any HR issues that may affect the organization, and play a key role in overseeing high-level HR risks. Additionally, all board members are expected to contribute to the development and implementation of the organization's strategic aims, raise its profile, support the Chairperson, and lead or participate in projects as needed.
The ideal candidate will have working experience and a strong track record in HR Management/Employment Law, as well as skills in data recording, task management, digital communication, and IT. Knowledge of the community and voluntary sector in Ireland is an advantage. The term of office includes an annual performance review to ensure alignment with the organization's goals and values.
