Alistair Macrae focuses on Chief Financial Officer and General Legal Counsel succession, assessments and search assignments across all sectors for both public and private companies. Based jointly in Melbourne and Sydney, Alistair leads the Australia practice for Russell Reynolds Associates, as well as the Corporate Officers Sector for the region. He specializes in board successions, specifically in chair of the audit committee appointments. Alistair has established himself as a leading voice in helping international organizations build leadership talent in corporate officer functions. Before joining Russell Reynolds, he spent six years with Fairfax Media Limited, one of Australia’s largest media groups, where he was CFO of the company’s digital business. Earlier, Alistair was with Tabcorp Holdings Limited, Australia’s largest gambling and entertainment group, where he worked in corporate strategy. Alistair began his career with Ernst & Young, working within the Minerals, Energy and Utilities Practice. Alistair received his BCom from the University of Melbourne and his MBA from The University of Melbourne - Melbourne Business School. Alistair is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
