The Royal British Legion, a charity dedicated to supporting veterans and their families in Ireland, is seeking a dedicated individual to join their board as an Accountant. Based in the District Office in Dublin 2, the Accountant will be responsible for maintaining and updating the client's accounts. This role requires a commitment of at least one day per week at the office, as well as transitioning the accounts onto a computer system. The appointed individual will also be responsible for presenting the accounts to the Auditor at the end of the financial year, as well as at quarterly meetings and the Annual General Meeting.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in managing accounts for non-profit organizations being a plus. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role. The individual must be comfortable presenting financial information to the Auditor, as well as to board members and stakeholders at meetings. Strong communication skills and a commitment to the mission of supporting veterans and their families are also important qualities for the Accountant Board Member.
