The client is seeking a Vice President of Development to join its fundraising team and play a pivotal role in enhancing a tradition and culture of philanthropy. This senior-level professional will be responsible for building long-term relationships with key stakeholders by cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporate sponsorships, special projects, major gifts, and planned gifts from a diverse portfolio of constituents. Candidates should have a strong interest in the value and impact of public parks and recreational programming and be dedicated to promoting the organization's mission and strategic fundraising priorities.

A successful candidate must possess a bachelorﾒs degree and at least five years of fundraising or development experience with a proven track record. Familiarity with fundraising standards and best practices, including major gifts and campaigns, is essential. The role requires a high-energy individual who can effectively work independently as well as part of a team. Strong writing, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are necessary, along with a willingness and ability to travel. The candidate must also be adept at managing a donor database system and tracking and cultivating donors and prospects, with a particular focus on major gifts and planned giving.
