The client is seeking a Vice President of Development to join its fundraising team and play a pivotal role in enhancing a tradition and culture of philanthropy. This senior-level professional will be responsible for building long-term relationships with key stakeholders by cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporate sponsorships, special projects, major gifts, and planned gifts from a diverse portfolio of constituents. Candidates should have a strong interest in the value and impact of public parks and recreational programming and be dedicated to promoting the organization's mission and strategic fundraising priorities.

A successful candidate must possess a bachelorメs degree and at least five years of fundraising or development experience with a proven track record. Familiarity with fundraising standards and best practices, including major gifts and campaigns, is essential. The role requires a high-energy individual who can effectively work independently as well as part of a team. Strong writing, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are necessary, along with a willingness and ability to travel. The candidate must also be adept at managing a donor database system and tracking and cultivating donors and prospects, with a particular focus on major gifts and planned giving.

The Vice President of Development will help donors achieve their philanthropic goals through strategic relationship-building and will provide leadership and oversight of all development processes. Responsibilities include identifying major gift prospects, cultivating them, and stewarding their contributions, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission. The role involves managing systems for donor tracking, leading corporate sponsorship program activation, and performing direct face-to-face solicitations.
