Utako Taguchi is a member of the Consumer Practice based in Tokyo. She plays a key role in growing Spencer Stuart’s business and presence in this market, building strong relationships with colleagues in the consumer goods arena both in Japan and globally. Versatile and seasoned hybrid in executive search, consulting, marketing and digital transformation Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Utako was at Google Japan as a lead executive engagement manager in marketing for five years and a senior recruiter for four years, leading leadership staffing across APAC for all PAs and businesses. Previously, she worked at a global leadership consulting firm in the U.S., advancing to a principal-level consultant of the firm’s consumer sector and digital transformation practices. In her early career, she was a strategy consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton in Japan, where she developed her business knowledge and strategic acumen, before moving to the La Prairie Group, a Swiss cosmetics company, as project coordinator to the CEO. Utako holds a masters as well as a bachelor of law from Keio University. A native of Japan, she has lived in the United States and Switzerland and is fluent in both Japanese and English.
