Toby Gardner is the Managing Partner in Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia, responsible for leading a high-performing team across executive search, leadership advisory and enablement functions. Toby is also the APAC Regional Practice Head for Financial Services based in the Odgers Berndtson Sydney office. His delivery focus is on board-level executive appointments and senior leadership roles across banking and capital markets, insurance, wealth management and related financial services markets. Toby works closely with Odgers Berndtson’s global team to ensure the successful delivery of both local and global searches. Before joining Odgers Berndtson, Toby worked for a Big Four global consulting firm for 20 years, specialising in serving financial services clients in the UK, Europe, and APAC, and most recently, managing clients globally. His relationships and expertise traverse a broad range of functional areas within financial services, and he has a depth of knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and economic drivers shaping future skills requirements. Toby has a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Nottingham and has lived in multiple locations globally, with Sydney now firmly his home.
