Sophia Nerell serves clients primarily in the Industrial, Energy and Natural Resources, and Technology Sectors. She focuses on CEO, CFO, CHRO and General Management roles as a trusted advisor to both regional and international clients. Additionally, Sophia co-leads the firm’s Women in Leadership Initiative in Sweden. She is based in Stockholm. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Sophia spent four years with Bain & Company in both Chicago and Stockholm, advising executive management teams on company strategy, merger integration and organizational transformation initiatives across sectors. Earlier, she spent two years with Procuritas Partners, providing analysis and valuation of potential buyout targets and working with portfolio companies in the Nordic private equity mid-market segment. Sophia spent the first 12 years of her career with McDonald’s, in both line management and strategic roles. During the last six years of her tenure there, she was Real Estate Manager, with responsibility for co-leading the strategic expansion in the Swedish market during a period of significant growth. EDUCATION Sophia received her MSc in business and economics from the Stockholm School of Economics and earned her MBA international exchange credits from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
