Shelagh has over ten years of experience heading organizations in human resources, finance and research. As former Director of Human Resources for the UBC Faculty of Medicine and the Director of Administration of UBC Family Practice, Shelagh is passionate about working with organizations to identify their goals and build the systems, frameworks and strategies to ensure success. As a trained cultural anthropologist, Shelagh applies her interest in workplace cultures, non-profit leadership and civic engagement to her work and teaches Cultural Anthropology at a local liberal arts college. She has written a book on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Shelagh has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology from Concordia University. She has been a long-time Board member of the Camp Fircom Society, holding several positions including Vice-Chair of the Board and Chair of the Finance and Human Resource Committee.
