The Senior Executive Director position involves setting strategic direction, cultivating high-value partnerships, and driving investment to enhance communities across New York State. This role includes securing and aligning philanthropic, public, and private capital to advance inclusive economic development, affordable housing, and community-building efforts. The executive will lead and oversee various programs, ensuring their excellence across multiple markets while working closely with the President & CEO and the Regional Program Vice President. The candidate must be a strategic, entrepreneurial leader with deep community development expertise capable of influencing at local, state, and national levels.

The director will provide vision and leadership for all programs, aligning them with national strategies while addressing local community needs. Innovative approaches to community development and investment are required to achieve measurable outcomes. Additionally, the director acts as the primary connector between program teams and local partners to ensure statewide implementation meets expectations and quality standards. The role includes scaling national initiatives such as housing and economic development, coordinating statewide participation in pilots and grant-funded initiatives, and translating national goals into local strategies to produce consistent impact across markets.

Leading a comprehensive capital investment strategy is another core responsibility, leveraging local and state funding, philanthropic partnerships, and private capital. The director will drive fundraising efforts to meet or exceed resource acquisition goals and achieve community capital investment and lending targets. Building a robust ecosystem of community-based nonprofit partners and developing a broad cross-sector network are essential tasks for expanding programmatic and investment strategies across diverse markets. The executive will also establish strong Local Advisory Committees to engage influential leaders who provide strategic guidance and leverage resources for the client.
