The client is seeking a SEND Tribunal Officer for a 3-6 month interim contract in the Northwest. The role involves coordinating outcomes for children with Special Educational Needs by managing a caseload in accordance with their EHC plans. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of SEND legislation, tribunal proceedings, and case management across the 0-25 age range. Responsibilities include responding to appeals, preparing written responses and legal submissions, representing the local authority at Tribunal hearings, and providing expert advice on SEND legislation.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and responding to appeals against Education, Health, and Care Plan decisions, ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines. They will also represent the local authority at Tribunal hearings and mediation meetings with families, providing expert advice on SEND legislation. The role involves liaising with families, schools, and professionals to seek resolution before Tribunal where possible, as well as supporting the continuous improvement of SEND services through learning from Tribunal outcomes. The client has multiple vacancies within SEND across their Education Team and various Local Authorities nationwide, offering potential opportunities for candidates who may not find this specific role suitable.
