After starting his career in the health sciences field where he completed his PhD, Michael’s strong passion for the health system has seen him transition and thrive as a health specialist search consultant and advisor, working with an ever growing number of private, public and NFP healthcare clients. Michael’s passion for health and making a difference in the community, combined with agile learning and relationship focused approach has culminated in an intricate understanding of executive search within the health and academic sectors. This has resulted in a work environment that aligns perfectly with his overall goal of advancing of a thriving healthcare sector through facilitating leadership transitions. Joining as a Partner leading the NSW Health Practice in 2025, Michael will bring his ever growing health expertise, relationships and knowledge to an advanced capability ecosystem at Future Leadership. He looks forward to facilitating an enhanced support network offering to existing and new healthcare clients to help Boards and executives prepare for the future. From new client development and awareness of our executive search services, through the entire search process starting with initial client brief and awareness of needs to successful, placement of candidate and follow-up contact re satisfaction in new appointment and organisation. His extensive scientific knowledge and interest in the health and scientific field has seen him obtain his PhD in neuropharmacology, and present and publish multiple journal articles on his research. Since moving into a consultant role at Ccentric Group Michael’s passion for health and making a difference in the community has been combined with an intricate understanding and continually refined approach to executive search and the healthcare and academic sectors in which we work. Michael is passionate for health but also has a great passion for people. Furthermore whilst recruitment can often get a polarising reaction, there was an ingrained culture within Ccentric Group of wanting to help both highly driven and ethical people find the role and organisation that will facilitate the achievement of success that will subsequently see improvements to the services provided to the public. Outside of work Michael’s interests lie in surf lifesaving where he patrols at his local beach, soccer/football where he both play and coach and running.
