The client is seeking a Membership and Compliance Counsel in Calgary, Canada to join their Membership department. The Membership department of the client is responsible for handling inquiries related to membership status, indemnity changes, and membership renewals for the legal profession in the public interest. The Counsel will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and determining applications, providing legal advice and support to department staff, and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.

The Membership and Compliance Counsel will play a key role in the administration of applications for membership, status changes, and admission programs for students-at-law. They will also be responsible for compliance with the Fair Registration Practices Act and the Labour Mobility Act, including data collection, training, monitoring processes, tracking outcomes, and reporting on application metrics.
