Description

The client is seeking a Senior Attorney with a focus on racial equity to join their team in Boston. The role involves advocating for individuals impacted by systemic racism in education access, as well as working towards systemic change within the Boston Public Schools community and statewide. Responsibilities include providing direct client advocacy, leading in creating legal case strategies, engaging in policy advocacy, and supervising staff attorneys.

Applicants must have a J.D., be admitted to the Massachusetts Bar or able to obtain admission within 6 months, and have experience in education or related fields. Leadership qualities, a commitment to racial equity, and excellent communication skills are required. Fluency in additional languages is a plus. The position offers a salary range of $75,000 - $85,000, health insurance, a 4-day work week pilot program, paid time off, and a sabbatical after 7 years.

The Senior Attorney will work with a team of public interest attorneys and advocates, collaborate with community partners, and lead advocacy efforts on racial equity in Boston Public Schools. They will also participate in coalitions, conduct trainings for communities impacted by systemic racism, and contribute to the client's racial equity initiatives.
