Luke Whorton is a member of the Financial Officer Practice, focusing on chief financial officer, chief audit executive, chief accounting officer, controller and other senior-level finance assignments for publicly traded, private equity and founder- or family-owned businesses. A former CPA, Luke brings a unique, hands-on perspective to every global search, as well as a deep understanding of the consumer, retail, healthcare and financial services sector. Luke previously led Spencer Stuart’s Tex-Plex, encompassing the Austin, Dallas and Houston offices. Former CPA with broad finance and accounting expertise At Spencer Stuart, Luke has worked on more than 250 CFO, chief accounting officer, chief auditor and other deputy finance and accounting executive searches across sectors for both public and sponsor-backed companies, including cross-border and international assignments. Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Luke was part of the equity research group at KeyBanc Capital Markets, where he focused on the retail sector. Luke began his career with KPMG, first as an audit manager with a focus on global industrial and manufacturing businesses, and then in transactions and restructuring focusing on a broad range of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures for public and privately held companies.
