Opportunity Details

The Senior Attorney position at the client is responsible for developing and maintaining a caseload of civil rights matters in federal and state court. This includes devising legal strategies, conducting research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in court proceedings. The Senior Attorney will work closely with pro bono law firms, engage in policy advocacy, community outreach, and ensure the organization's visibility across diverse communities and social justice movements. This position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as well as travel statewide and occasionally nationwide for court proceedings and events.
The Senior Attorney will report to the client's Litigation Director or Deputy Litigation Director and will play a key role in ensuring the growth and success of the organization's litigation docket. In addition to developing and litigating cases, the Senior Attorney will participate in community outreach, policy advocacy, and legislative advocacy efforts to drive impact litigation and policy reform in targeted areas. This position requires tracking work and billable hours for quarterly reports and ensuring that all internal and external work aligns with the organization's brand, policies, procedures, and protocols.
