Ms. Lauren Makucin Merriam joined Academic Search in December 2016 and has partnered on over 50 searches. She has strong experience with general counsel searches, as well as experience with searches for vice presidents of academic affairs, deans, and student-focused roles, including enrollment, diversity, and student services leaders. As an Associate Consultant, Ms. Merriam aids in search document preparation, advises on advertising venues, assists in identifying prospective candidates, manages applicant materials through a secure website, and supports the senior consultants during committee meetings and semifinalist interviews. She has developed a keen ability to identify new prospects and nominators to be involved in her searches. Ms. Merriam has worked in higher education for 15 years, serving in positions related to student advising, programming, and fundraising at several New England institutions, including Boston College, MIT, Brown University, and Fisher College. She earned a B.A. in biology from the University of Rhode Island and an M.A. in higher education administration from Boston College.
