John Harty is a member of Spencer Stuart’s Financial Services Practice, with a particular focus on retail financial services, insurance, financial technology (fintech) and boardroom advisory. With two decades of executive search and leadership consulting experience from across international markets, John is known for his exceptional understanding of boardroom dynamics and ability to help organizations align leadership with their transformation agenda. Exceptional boardroom and financial services adviser Before joining Spencer Stuart, John served as a global account manager for a global executive search and leadership advisory firm leading the relationship with a major global bank, amongst other significant clients. He led the financial services practice for Ireland across all service lines, specializing in banking and insurance at the national and international levels, advising boards and executive committees. He also led the strategy for the RPO offering in financial services in EMEA. John also built the firm’s board practice in Ireland, advising many of Ireland’s leading public companies, semi-state companies, real estate businesses and financial services entities, including pre-IPO board build outs. He started his career in a family-owned boutique executive search business, where he built the firm’s Dublin office, extended the firm’s international footprint in London, the Middle East and via network partners in Europe and Asia. He built a leading board practice in Ireland. John earned a bachelor’s degree in business studies from the University of Limerick with a minor in labour law.
