Guido LaPorta is a principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ Chicago office and a member of the Healthcare & Life Science Practice. With a focus on healthcare services and pharmaceutical/ biotech, Guido specializes in recruiting senior-level executives for health insurance, managed care, healthcare IT, integrated health systems, medical and physician groups, PBM, pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, and private equity clients. Experience Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Guido spent several years working as in house counsel at both the Housing & Redevelopment Insurance Exchange and Excalibur Insurance in Pennsylvania. The Housing & Redevelopment Insurance Exchange is a non-profit and fully regulated reciprocal insurance provider that provides reliable and affordable insurance coverage to more than 450 governmental entities throughout the state of Pennsylvania. In this capacity, Guido reported directly to the board of directors and handled all phases of insurance defense litigation and case management on behalf of H.A.R.I.E governmental insureds in both state and federal court. Guido began his career as an orthopedic medical device sales representative for a large medical device distributorship, AdvancedSurgical Inc. (ASI), located in the Philadelphia area. Education The Duquesne University School of Law, JD Licensed to practice in the State of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. The University of Scranton, BS in Political Science Philanthropy and Service Guido serves on the advisory board of national not-for-profit Back On My Feet in Chicago.
