The client is seeking a Greater DC Executive Director to lead the longest-running regional program team in the Washington, DC area. This role will involve working with hundreds of youth across six school districts in Montgomery County, Prince Georges County, and Northern Virginia. The Executive Director will be responsible for developing, leading, and fundraising for the region's new strategic plan to double impact over the next five years. Strong candidates will have a proven track record of securing large gifts, cultivating relationships with funders, and developing strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the DC area.
As a key member of the client's Executive Leadership Team, the Greater DC Executive Director will oversee regional fundraising and relationship management. This includes establishing strategic partnerships with employers and philanthropic entities, collaborating with the national development team to secure resources, and ensuring programmatic outcomes are met. The Executive Director will also be responsible for managing and coaching the regional directors who oversee program staff and operations in the region. Additionally, they will represent the organization externally through public speaking engagements, social media presence, and community events.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a deep understanding of the needs, landscape, and key stakeholders in the DC area. They will be skilled in securing large gifts, developing strategic relationships, and managing a team that works with hundreds of young people each year. This role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and requires being in the Greater DC office three days per week. The client is a nonprofit organization that aims to provide young adults from historically excluded communities with the skills and opportunities needed to achieve economic mobility.
