About Rodriguez
Fernando Rodriguez is a Senior Partner at Stanton Chase, Santiago office. He also leads the Mining practice for Latin America.
In partnership with senior executive teams, Fernando has driven multiple strategies for search assignments that have advanced the interests of his clients with a focus on the Latin America region.
Prior to joining Stanton Chase, Fernando was General Manager – South America for an international executive search firm where he successfully expanded the practice across the Andean countries, opening markets in Chile, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia and effectively serving high-profile clients in the mining, infrastructure, and energy sectors.
As a strategist and accessible leader, Fernando is known for forging new business opportunities and the implementation of regional strategies based on risk, potential, and a strong understanding of the commercial issues facing organizations operating in Latin American markets.
Fernando has previously held a number of roles where he successfully facilitated trade and investment opportunities across South America for mining and energy companies. He has led the negotiation of major contracts (including public-private partnerships, purchase power agreements, and joint ventures), shaping partnerships for key mining and energy projects. He has also been instrumental in developing and implementing specific market-entry plans for expansion into the Latin American markets, attracting major investors and acting in a technical and management capacity on projects with governments and corporations, including Siemens AG, Barrick Gold Corporation, AES Gener, Andean Power, and BHP Billiton.
With the proven ability to break through language and cultural barriers, Fernando is fluent in English and Spanish, with a vast and accurate vocabulary in both languages that has been utilized across complex business negotiations.
Fernando has a degree in economics and a master’s degree in international trade from Monash University in Australia. Fernando is an invited speaker at conferences on innovation and engagement within Latin America and is a published author with the Australian Institute of International Affairs.
