Erik Wordelman leads Spencer Stuart’s global Medical Technology Practice and coordinates the firm’s healthcare private equity efforts. He specializes in CEO, senior executive and board director recruitment and succession across all segments of the medical technology sector and Healthcare Practice, serving clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to private equity-backed enterprises. He brings more than three decades of combined executive search and industry experience to his search work. Firsthand healthcare expertise Before joining Spencer Stuart, Erik led the medical technology practice in North America for another leading international executive search firm. He was also area manager of the firm’s Minneapolis/St. Paul office. Prior to entering the search business, Erik held various leadership positions at Medtronic in the functional areas of mergers and acquisitions, new ventures, finance and marketing within multiple markets, including the cardiovascular, neuromodulation and diabetes segments. Erik was also a member of a global divisional executive team. Erik began his career at Deloitte & Touche, with a focus on the life sciences market. Erik is active with AdvaMed and serves on the Children’s Theatre Company board in Minneapolis. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and holds an inactive CPA certification.
