Ed is one of Emu’s Managing Partners. He specialises in executive search for Private Equity, recruiting C-Suite leaders for their portfolio companies. Evident in his 23 years of global executive search experience are Ed’s values of integrity, mutual respect and transparency. His practical, friendly and direct style helps him fully understand his clients unique business needs and culture from the outset, resulting in a fast turnaround when fulfilling on client engagements while being an excellent sounding board during the entire process. Ed works closely with Founders and CEO’s of portfolio companies at all stages of the investment cycle. From interim solutions, and talent mapping (pre and post deal), to key business introductions as a source of deal flow. Ed often supports clients to achieve the best outcome before the deal is even done. He understands the critical need for responsible investing and by bringing a truly consultative and human centric approach, many regard him as a highly engaging, trustworthy, and insightful search partner. Ed’s ability to connect executive leaders’ ambitions and attributes to the right opportunities is reflected in his deep network. He is also well versed in all things related to CFO roles, whether that be in SME, large businesses, private equity or ASX listed companies. The PE industry spans so many diverse sectors so I get exposure to a variety of markets when conducting searches – I’m never stuck in one lane. My job plays to my self-motivated and competitive nature and I truly love seeing people thrive. Prior to Emu, his first role was at Ernst & Young in their audit department. Ed’s search career began as the Division Manager for Ellis Fairbank Executive Search & Selection, later joining global recruitment firm Robert Half. In 2007, he co-founded Venator Finance & Accounting with Dom Cara, later joining forces with Luke and Zenco to form Emu. Ed has a BA (Hons) in Political Science & Languages from Queen Mary University in London. In his spare time, you’ll find Ed spending quality time with his family, socialising with friends, playing golf, bending on the yoga mat, cooking up a storm or eating at Victoria’s many great restaurants.
