Description

the client is seeking a Director of Public & Private Cloud Engineering to lead an enterprise cloud platform organization focused on connecting private and public cloud into a unified environment. This is a strategic leadership role with a strong delivery focus, overseeing cloud platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, and infrastructure functions and guiding the evolution of a more aligned, less fragmented platform environment.

Reporting to senior technology leadership, the Director will oversee an organization of 50–100 engineers and leaders across the us and india. Key responsibilities include leading global cloud engineering efforts across platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, and infrastructure; driving strategy and delivery across both private and public cloud environments; connecting siloed infrastructure and platform functions into a unified cloud platform; partnering with senior technical leadership and architecture teams; and overseeing modern infrastructure domains such as kubernetes, compute, storage, networking, GPU infrastructure, and cloud services.

The role will focus on improving reliability, scalability, automation, and operational efficiency across cloud platforms, while building trust, autonomy, and a strong engineering culture across distributed teams. Required qualifications include 12+ years across cloud, infrastructure, or platform engineering within private cloud environments, experience leading managers and senior engineering leaders in enterprise settings, strong experience across both private and public cloud, deep expertise with AWS plus additional public cloud exposure preferred, and strong infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code experience using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, or similar. Preferred background includes kubernetes or OpenShift platform leadership, experience in large engineering-led organizations, exposure to AI/ML, GPU, or high-performance compute environments, and strong open source tooling experience.
