Description

The client is seeking a Director of Apparel and Accessories Product Development to join their festival division team. This role involves leading factory cost conversations, managing materials and trims, maintaining accurate BOMs, communicating with vendors, overseeing sampling, and providing feedback to the team. Reporting to the VP of Consumer Products, the Director will also be responsible for developing yearly schedules, negotiating costs with manufacturers, meeting product development milestones, and creating technical packages.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in product development, design, or production in garment manufacturing. They must have strong relationships with manufacturers in the apparel space, knowledge of raw materials and garment construction, and experience working with domestic and international vendors. The Director should be proficient in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, have strong communication skills, and be able to travel up to 40% of the time to oversee manufacturing QC. Additionally, they should be able to provide leadership, supervision, and direction to peers throughout the development process.

Overall, the Director of Apparel and Accessories Product Development will play a crucial role in ensuring that development stays on track, costs are maintained in accordance with financial objectives, and products meet quality and design standards. They will work closely with the Creative Director to refine seasonal concepts, color pallets, and materials, while also managing timelines, approvals, and costing for all items in development. This position requires a proactive and motivated individual who can effectively lead a team and navigate the complexities of garment manufacturing.
