Opportunity Details

The Development Director at Discovery Green will be responsible for leading all fundraising efforts, including engaging with individual, foundation, and corporate donors. This role involves managing personal visits and written solicitations, overseeing events and sponsorships, editing proposals and reports, and developing a comprehensive financial resource plan. The Director will work closely with the President and Board of Directors to identify and cultivate donors, supervise staff, and set fundraising goals to drive the client's growth.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing a strategic gift solicitation plan, cultivating and stewarding a portfolio of donors, executing fundraising events, managing the department budget, and creating fundraising materials to promote the client's mission. The Director will also present formal fundraising proposals to major donors, provide support to the President in fundraising solicitations, and track donor activity through monthly reports. Additionally, the Director will provide leadership and development for the Development Department staff, ensuring effective operations and team growth.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of development experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role, and a proven track record of cultivating and soliciting high-level prospects and donors. Strong communication skills, proficiency in fundraising best practices, and knowledge of relevant software and platforms are essential. The Development Director must be able to work evenings and weekends, travel as required, and maintain confidentiality while working collaboratively with the President, Board, donors, and volunteers to support the client's mission.
