The University of Memphis is seeking a Dean of Communication and Fine Arts (CCFA) to provide leadership, strategic vision, and academic oversight to the college's diverse academic departments and programs. Reporting to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs & Provost, the Dean will play a pivotal role in shaping the college's mission, enhancing its reputation, and fostering an environment conducive to academic excellence, artistic creativity, and professional development. Responsibilities include approval of hiring, tenure, and promotion decisions, effective management of resources, oversight of assessment and accreditation processes, student recruitment and retention, outreach activities, research support, and budgetary responsibility for the college and its programs.

Qualified candidates for the Dean position must have a terminal degree in a discipline represented in the college, a distinguished record of teaching, research, or creative achievement, and a commitment to promoting diversity and excellence in educational programs. The College of Communication and Fine Arts offers a variety of academic programs in music, theatre, film, art, journalism, architecture, and communication, with opportunities for experiential learning and research. As part of a Carnegie R1 research university, CCFA is actively involved in research projects funded by grants and initiatives that bridge arts, humanities, social sciences, medical, digital technologies, and STEM areas.
