Based in Melbourne, Dean Ireland leads the Consumer Practice across Asia Pacific. An accomplished search partner with nearly 20 years' experience, Dean advises boards and CEOs on senior leadership executive search, succession, assessment and development, working with companies in the consumer, healthcare and industrial sectors. Prior to search, Dean saw firsthand the impact that great people and teams can have in businesses and communities from an executive career at GE and Pacific Dunlop. Impacting business, community and people through search and development Prior to Spencer Stuart, Dean was a managing partner at an international board and executive search partnership. Dean worked at GE for almost a decade, where he held several business development positions in the capital and energy divisions, ending his tenure there as head of strategic planning for GE Power in the U.S. He began his career in management consulting and investment banking before joining Pacific Dunlop, where he served as manager of corporate affairs and investor relations. Dean holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Marketing from Melbourne Business School. He serves on the nomination committee for Cycling Australia as well as the board of an innovative disability housing foundation, Summer Foundation. He previously served as a non-executive director of the Melbourne Business School where he was also president of the Alumni Association and not-for-profit microfinance provider Opportunity International.
