Cynthia Dow leads our work in the New England region and co-leads our global Legal, Regulatory & Compliance Officers Practice from her base in Boston. She has a particular focus on advising organizations of all sizes and across industries on their general counsel, chief legal officer, and other board and corporate governance appointments. Cynthia was a successful lawyer before joining Russell Reynolds Associates, serving as a corporate generalist, labor and employment attorney, and litigator. She practiced law for more than 14 years, including positions as vice president and assistant general counsel with Cadbury Schweppes, the general counsel to a technology company, and as an attorney with Baker Botts LLP in Dallas. Earlier in her career, she served as a senior law clerk to Chief Judge Jerry Buchmeyer of the Northern District of Texas. “I am not afraid of storms, for I’m learning how to sail my ship.” — Louisa May Alcott Cynthia received her BA, with distinction, in government from Cornell University and her JD from the Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and an editor of the Journal of Law and Social Problems.
