The client, a leading company in the consumer healthcare and beauty products industry, is seeking a Controller to join their team in Halifax, NS. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, and internal controls to support the company's growth strategy. Key responsibilities include preparing financial statements, managing the general ledger, leading month-end and year-end close processes, and collaborating with department heads on financial forecasts.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a CPA designation, a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and at least 5 years of accounting and financial management experience. They should also have strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles, as well as experience in consumer product sales and distribution channels. The Controller will need to demonstrate proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
