The client is seeking a Chief Research Operations Officer to play a key leadership role in advancing the research operations at Georgia Institute of Technology. Reporting to the Executive Vice President for Research, the CROO will oversee Research Integrity Assurance, Research Administration, Research Operations/Infrastructure, and Research Development. This individual will work closely with the EVPR to shape and implement the Institute's Strategic Plan and drive its research vision, mission, and goals. Responsibilities include providing strategic direction and oversight for the Office of Sponsored Programs, Office of Research Development, Office of Research Integrity Assurance, and Office of Research Operations and Infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in leadership roles related to research operations and administration within a higher education academic environment, national lab, hospital, corporate research organization, or other related organization. They should have a deep understanding of issues in higher education, university research, and research culture, as well as a strong advocacy for research, faculty, staff, and students. The CROO will be responsible for collaborating with executive, administrative, research, and academic leaders to align research initiatives with Georgia Tech's strategic priorities, lead efforts to articulate and execute a forward-looking research strategy, and represent the institute in national and global discussions on research policy, operations, and administration.
