Description

The client seeks a Chief People Officer to shape the client and employee experience at an enterprise scale while staying aligned to the organization’s values, mission, and long-term vision. This senior HR executive is expected to make meaningful decisions across the organization that connect people strategy with purpose and outcomes, and to participate in strategic planning and organizational transformation, including navigating complexities tied to growth while building high-performing teams.

The Chief People Officer will lead the continued deployment and integration of Workday, ERP, and HCM systems to improve efficiency, support workforce management, and reduce operational complexity. Clear communication of how these systems enable business goals will be essential, and the role will support acquisition-driven scaling by establishing repeatable approaches, cross-functional coordination, and infrastructure that enables integration readiness with minimal disruption. Leadership development and talent management are key priorities, including strengthening frontline and future leadership capabilities and aligning people strategies with regulatory realities and workforce needs.

The role will guide employee engagement, retention, and total rewards, ensuring compensation and benefits remain competitive while reinforcing culture and purpose. The Chief People Officer will drive alignment and communication across leadership, operations, and HR to clarify priorities, strengthen accountability, and effectively execute change initiatives. Required qualifications include prior CPO or CHRO experience with direct reporting to the CEO or Board, strong business acumen with financial literacy, experience managing growth dynamics such as acquisitions or M&A integration and HR/system implementations, experience leading large-scale HR transformation, and demonstrated success managing high-turnover workforces; additional expectations may include analytical decision-making, experience in remote and multistate teams, familiarity with governance structures in family-owned businesses, and an ability to work in an office in Minnesota and travel as required.
