Description

The client is seeking a Chief People Officer to shape the employee and company experience at an enterprise scale while staying closely aligned to organizational values, mission, and long-term vision. The role requires strong decision-making across the organization, participation in strategy and organizational transformation, and the ability to navigate complexities associated with growth while developing high-performance teams. The Chief People Officer will lead people strategies and execution to ensure priorities are clear, accountability is strong, and change initiatives are effectively implemented.

A key focus will be the continued deployment and integration of Workday, ERP, and HCM systems to improve efficiency, support workforce management, and reduce operational complexity. As the organization scales through acquisitions, the Chief People Officer will help ensure integration readiness by establishing repeatable approaches, coordinating cross-functionally, and building infrastructure that supports growth with minimal disruption. The role will also guide employee engagement, retention, and total rewards, helping ensure compensation and benefits remain competitive while reinforcing culture and purpose.

Leadership development and talent management are central priorities, including strengthening frontline and future leadership capabilities and aligning people strategies with regulatory realities and workforce shortages. The Chief People Officer is expected to demonstrate strategic thinking, sound judgment and critical thinking, inclusive collaboration, strong results orientation, and humility and resilience. Required qualifications include prior CPO or CHRO experience with direct reporting to the CEO or Board, strong business and financial acumen, experience with growth dynamics such as acquisitions and system implementations, proven leadership in HR transformation, and experience managing large-scale and diverse, multistate and remote teams; additional expectations include managing complex governance structures and working from a Minnesota office with travel to other locations as required.
