The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization's growth, sustainability, and impact. Founded in response to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Bulletin is a respected source of news and analysis on nuclear risk, climate change, and disruptive technologies. The CEO will oversee all aspects of the organization, lead a team of staff and board members, and serve as the public face of the organization, engaging with thought-leaders, experts, donors, and the media. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to addressing global issues and ensuring the organization continues to provide essential insights during a period of growing concern and complexity.
The CEO will have the opportunity to lead an iconic and mission-driven organization with a historic legacy, while also being a visionary leader who can navigate a changing information and technological landscape. The compensation for the role is $190,000 - $210,000, with a robust benefits package offered. While most staff work remotely, an in-office presence is preferred at the University of Chicago campus.
