Description

The client is seeking a Chief Community Impact Officer (CCIO), who will be a key member of the executive leadership team and provide strategic leadership for community impact initiatives, programs, and partnerships across Western North Carolina. This position reports to the CEO and oversees a portfolio of community impact programs that aim to strengthen food access and address the immediate and systemic causes of hunger. The goal is to advance the organization's strategic trajectory towards a public health model that views food as integral to health, ensuring that the voices of those experiencing food insecurity inform program design.

This role involves managing community impact initiatives such as agency relations, network strategy, benefits outreach, community markets, youth programs, health initiatives, and community insight efforts. The CCIO will collaborate closely with senior leadership, community partners, healthcare systems, and public agencies, playing a pivotal role in establishing the client as a leading voice in regional food security and public health efforts. The position requires oversight of a team of directors and program leaders to ensure that the initiatives are aligned with strategic priorities, operational capacity, and a commitment to equitable food access.

The Chief Community Impact Officer is tasked with serving as a senior leader and trusted advisor on community impact strategy, program effectiveness, and long-term food security solutions. The role requires developing and executing a comprehensive community impact strategy aligned with the organization's mission and regional needs. The CCIO will contribute to the overall strategy, organizational culture, and cross-department collaboration. Additionally, the officer will represent the client at public forums, coalition meetings, and community events, advancing partnerships and community engagement, and leading organizational responses to community crises or disasters.
