Opportunity Details

The client is seeking a new Chair for the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS), which provides an adjudication service to make independent decisions about doctors' fitness to practice. The MPTS was established to separate the GMC's investigation function from the adjudication process, and has since expanded to cover physician associates and anaesthesia associates as well. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the MPTS's statutory responsibilities, following the footsteps of the outgoing Chair, Her Honour Deborah Taylor.
Ideal candidates for this role will have experience in judicial office or running operations within a Tribunal or Courts Service. The client is looking for individuals with a background in large and complex organizations, preferably in the public or not-for-profit sector. The MPTS aims to provide a modern, fair, and impartial tribunal service, and encourages applications from diverse backgrounds to bring different perspectives to the role. The organization is committed to fairness, transparency, and inclusivity throughout the appointments process.
Joining the MPTS means becoming part of an organization with a strong public mission and a reputation for excellence in its work. The collaborative culture and supportive colleagues make it a great place to work. As Chair, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in a high-profile and influential role. If you believe you are the right fit for this position, the client looks forward to receiving your application. Additional information can be found in the candidate pack.
