The client is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to serve as the Chair of the Department of Surgery, Chief of Surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital, and Surgeon-in-Chief of the Yale New Haven Health System. This leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee a large and diverse department within a prestigious academic medical institution. With a team of over 160 full-time faculty members and more than 100 residents and fellows, the Department of Surgery plays a crucial role in the clinical, research, and educational missions of the client and Yale New Haven Health.
The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing the department's impact in clinical, scientific, and educational realms while promoting collaboration across the university and health system. The next Chair of Surgery will be expected to enhance coordination among divisions, support faculty development, expand clinical services in key areas such as cardiac, gastrointestinal, and transplant surgery, and align departmental priorities with broader institutional goals.
